Package range: $111,798 - $132,585. Package includes salary ($98,499 - $116,813 per annum) employer's superannuation and annual leave loading. (Salary offered will be based on experience).

About the role

We’re seeking world-class educators to inspire the next generation of Human Services - Ageing and Disability students by joining our team of teachers for the following opportunities, with travel to other TAFE NSW campuses required:

  • 1 x permanent full-time at Broken Hill Campus
  • 1 x permanent full-time at Cessnock Campus
  • 1 x permanent full-time at Griffith Campus

In this role, you will deliver educational programs and facilitate learning using a blend of face‑to‑face and online delivery methods, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes. You will confidently use online platforms and digital tools, including the Microsoft Office Suite, to support engaging and effective learning experiences. Proudly teach students to support older people and people with disability to live with dignity, independence and choice. Draw on your professional experience and values‑based practice to teach person‑centred care, communication, advocacy and inclusive support strategies. Guide students through practical, real‑world learning scenarios that build essential skills, professional confidence and a strong foundation for meaningful careers in the ageing and disability sector.

Essential Requirements:

  • Have appropriate subject knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications with a minimum level of Certificate III in Individual Support, and/or Certificate IV in Ageing Support or Disability, and/or Certificate III in Community Services (or other relevant discipline) or equivalent.
  • Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training (see the candidate support document (here) for details) OR a willingness to undertake our full time 14 week 'Paid to Learn' course.
  • Have a minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience relevant to your industry, gained no longer than five (5) years previously.

This is a targeted recruitment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in accordance with Rule 26 of the Government Sector Employment (General) Rules 2014 - Employment of eligible persons. As such, preference will be given to candidates who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.  If no suitable candidate is found, other applications may also be considered. Aboriginal candidates selected for an interview will be required to provide “Confirmation of Aboriginality” documentation at or before interview.

Paid to Learn: for candidates who do not hold an appropriate VET teaching qualification or equivalent, you have the option to be paid to learn as you transition from industry to teaching with guaranteed work following successful completion of the 14 weeks Training and Assessment course.  Those who already hold the appropriate teaching qualification or equivalent are still eligible to apply.

Applicants for part-time positions should note that participation in the 14‑week PTL program requires full-time attendance of 35 hours per week throughout the 14 week program.
