Campus Location: Ultimo 

1 x permanent part-time (21 hours per week) 

Package range: $111,798 - $132,585. Package includes salary ($98,499-$116,813 per annum paid pro-rata) employer's superannuation and annual leave loading. (Salary offered will be based on experience).

About the role

We’re seeking world-class educators to inspire the next generation of Instrumentation students by joining our team of teachers on a permanent part-time (21 hours per week) basis located at Ultimo Campus.

Essential Requirements:

  • Have appropriate subject knowledge, practical skills and relevant qualifications including:
    • Certificate IV in Instrumentation and Control or higher qualification OR
    • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering OR
    • Bachelor of Instrumentation Engineering OR
    • Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering or higher qualification
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in key instrumentation and control areas, including PLC programming, SCADA, Control systems, industrial automation, and related technologies.
  • Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training (see the candidate support document (here) for details) OR a willingness to undertake our full time 14 week 'Paid to Learn' course.
  • Have a minimum of three (3) years post qualification industry experience working as an Instrumentation and Control Technician or Engineer within manufacturing or similar industries, gained no longer than five (5) years previously.

Highly regarded but not essential:

  • Exposure to Data Centre Technology, including familiarity with data centre operations, infrastructure, or related systems
  • Industry experience or involvement in relevant projects

Paid to Learn: for candidates who do not hold an appropriate VET teaching qualification or equivalent, you have the option to be paid to learn as you transition from industry to teaching with guaranteed work following successful completion of the 14 weeks Training and Assessment course.  Those who already hold the appropriate teaching qualification or equivalent are still eligible to apply.

Applicants for part-time positions should note that participation in the 14‑week PTL program requires full-time attendance of 35 hours per week throughout the 14 week program.
