Permanent Full-time (35 hours per week)

$111,798 – $132,585 salary package - includes base salary ($98,499 – $116,813), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

We’re seeking dedicated Automotive educators who are passionate about developing the next generation of skilled automotive professionals. At TAFE NSW, you’ll play a vital role in equipping students with nationally recognised qualifications that lead to rewarding and meaningful careers across the automotive industry. Through your industry knowledge and experience, you’ll mentor learners as they build practical, hands-on skills in areas such as vehicle diagnostics, servicing and repairs, mechanical systems, and emerging automotive technologies.

This role is more than delivering training - it’s about nurturing confident, capable individuals who uphold safety, quality workmanship, innovation, and industry best practice. About You

To be successful in the role, you will:

  • Hold appropriate subject knowledge and skills, and at minimum hold a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
  • Have a minimum of five years post-qualification industry experience relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously
  • Hold evidence of the required teaching qualification to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET). See the candidate support document here for details
  • Be prepared to develop and maintain your VET knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency, and trainer/assessor competence
  • Hold a Fair Trading NSW tradesperson Industry Memberships, Licences or Other certificate (license) in the class of “Motor Mechanic” OR if applying from Interstate only, applicants must be Eligible to obtain a Fair Trading NSW Tradesperson certificate.
