Permanent part-time part year (6 hours per week for 41 weeks per year)

Hourly rate of $30.77 - $37.89 plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

Are you passionate about early childhood education and looking to gain practical experience in a dynamic learning setting? TAFE NSW is seeking a dedicated Play Session Assistant to join our team in Dubbo, supporting the delivery of engaging and meaningful educational experiences for children.

This position is responsible for assisting with planning and implementing the educational program for individuals and groups of children as part of the teaching team. You will contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy environment and assist in maintaining the procedures of the TAFE NSW Early Childhood Simulated Space.

About You

You will bring with you a passion to make a sustained and meaningful impact on industry and learners when sharing your subject knowledge expertise from industry and an appropriate vocational qualification.  

To be successful in this role you must possess: 

  • A Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and experience working in an Early Childhood environment
  • A Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance and First Aid qualification that is recognised by ACECQA which includes applying first aid, CPR, emergency asthma management, anaphylaxis and diabetes
  • A proven ability to comfort children, encourage self-help skills, develop a caring rapport and contribute to the overall procedures of the Early Childhood environment and simulated space
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining stores and undertaking procurement activities
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently, in a team environment with initiative, flexibility and the ability to communicate effectively with children and adults from diverse backgrounds
  • A current drivers’ licence.

This is a child-related position. A Working with Children Check is a prerequisite for anyone in child-related work. It involves a national criminal history check and review of findings of workplace misconduct.
