About the role

Reporting to the Financial Accountant Lead, the Fixed Assets Analyst position sits within a close-knit team of six in a stable and well-established finance environment. The role is deeply aligned with fixed asset accounting and plays a critical part in supporting the organisation’s financial reporting and compliance obligations.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, performing monthly reconciliations across the organisation, and ensuring accurate accounting of leases in accordance with AASB 16 within the SAP environment. The role also involves reviewing Assets Under Construction (AUC) projects, preparing accruals, and managing the capitalisation process in SAP. Your work will directly support year-end and early close audits, making this a key role in ensuring TAFE NSW’s financial integrity and compliance.

Beyond the numbers, you’ll engage with multiple stakeholders to manage asset revaluations, disposals, and reporting. You’ll also contribute to performance development planning and respond to financial inquiries with insightful analysis. This is a hands-on role that offers variety, impact, and the chance to work in a values-driven organisation that places the customer at the centre of decision-making.

About You

You’re a qualified CPA or Chartered Accountant with a strong sense of ownership and a solid foundation in fixed asset accounting, backed by a deep understanding of AASB standards, particularly AASB 16 lease accounting. Your attention to detail is second to none, and you’re confident navigating complex financial data to deliver accurate and timely reporting. Experience with SAP is highly desirable, and your advanced skills in Power BI and Excel allow you to turn data into meaningful insights.

You’re a natural communicator and collaborator with excellent stakeholder management skills, able to work cross-functionally to gather information, resolve queries, and support audit processes. You’re comfortable managing multiple priorities and take pride in maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
