$141,364 package includes salary ($124,547 – $137,476), employer's superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

Join our dynamic Work Health & Safety (WHS) team as an Occupational Hygienist. This role is responsible for developing and implementing health monitoring frameworks to ensure the wellbeing of TAFE NSW staff and learners. The role involves assessing occupational hazards, advising on risk controls, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. It also includes delivering training, supporting stakeholder engagement, and contributing to strategic decision-making.

This position reports to the Senior Manager Work Health & Safety and has a strong focus on collaboration, communication, and customer service. Whilst base location at a TAFE NSW Campus is negotiable for this opportunity (subject to TAFE NSW campus availability) travel will be a requirement for this role.

About You 

You are an experienced Occupational Hygienist with a passion for continuous improvement. You want to make a real impact in a purpose-driven organisation by using your expertise to influence change, drive compliance, and support the future of vocational education in NSW.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing occupational health and hygiene hazard strategies, action plans, policies, processes and management systems within an organisation.

Highly Regarded:

  • Knowledge of current occupational hygiene trends and best practices.
  • Strong ability to engage with diverse stakeholder groups, including regulatory agencies and student representatives.
  • Capacity to influence organisational culture in relation to health, hygiene, and wellbeing.
