At TAFE NSW, you will discover a diverse, dynamic, and collaborative environment, where you can innovate, create value, and do meaningful work.

About the role

We currently have two full-time opportunities for creative and motivated individuals with current industry knowledge and experience in Nursing to join our team as an Education Support Officer (ESO).

One opportunity will be based at Shellharbour, with the second opportunity located at either Albury, Wagga Wagga, or Cootamundra.

Working within a team of Nursing professionals, the Education Support Officer is supervised by the Head Teacher. The role is responsible for a range of activities which support learners and enhances the student learning experience.

Bring your current nursing experience into a dynamic learning environment where you’ll play a key role in supporting the next generation of nurses. Working alongside teachers in both classroom and simulated settings, you’ll help students strengthen their clinical skills, deepen their clinical reasoning and develop the professional behaviours essential for today’s nursing workforce. By reinforcing teacher‑led learning, guiding students through practical activities and encouraging their ongoing engagement, you’ll contribute to a supportive, high‑quality learning experience that prepares students for real‑world nursing practice.

Note: This role does not teach or prepare lessons or resources and does not deliver training, nor undertake assessment.

About You

You will love this role if you thrive on solving problems and helping others. You will be a part of a dynamic team, supporting students to successfully carry out tasks and understand their learning materials and concepts whilst creating an innovative and exciting educational environment. You will be technologically savvy with prior demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word and Excel and online meeting platforms like MS Teams or Zoom to be able to support students both face to face as well as via connecting platforms.

We are looking for motivated and engaged individuals who have the ability to meet the following Selection Criteria:

  1. Diploma (or above) in Nursing with a current AHPRA registration.
  2. Ability to understand the content of the learning materials and the processes used in the discipline.
  3. High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to be proactive and show initiative and ability to explain ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  4. Commitment and ability to support learning in an adult environment and a demonstrated ability to motivate and encourage students.
  5. Ability to establish effective working relationships with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and to provide quality customer service as part of a broader team.
  6. Skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies.
