1 x Aboriginal Targeted Traineeship Available - Certificate IV in Information Technology

Albury, Dubbo, Liverpool, Port Macquarie, Strathfield, Wagga or Wetherill Park campus

Temporary Full-time (24 months)

Total Remuneration Package: $61,921 - $76,251. Package includes base salary of $54,555 - $67,180 employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. 

This recruitment will also look to create an eligibility list, valid for 18 months, giving you the chance to be considered for upcoming opportunities of the same classification.

What does a traineeship involve? 

The Public Sector Apprentices and Trainee Program will implement the NSW Government's commitment to employ an additional 1000 apprentices and trainees across NSW Government agencies until 30 June 2026. More information can be found here

About the role 

As a Trainee, you’ll gain hands-on experience while completing a nationally recognised Certificate IV in Information Technology Support (ICT40120). In this role, you’ll assist with a wide range of ICT tasks, including first-level technical support, troubleshooting, user assistance, and contributing to ICT projects and service delivery. 

You’ll develop practical skills in installing and configuring technology, gain exposure to ICT operations in a large organisation, and work alongside experienced professionals who will mentor you as you grow. Your work will directly support students and staff by ensuring technology services run smoothly and efficiently.

Can you apply if you hold a VET or higher education qualification? 

✔    Yes, if you don’t already hold a qualification in the same area at a higher level 
✔    Yes, if your existing qualification is in a different field 
✔    Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or New Zealand citizen

  1. Willingness to undertake and complete a qualification in the relevant discipline.

Interviews are expected to be held online via Microsoft Teams mid-October 2025, with successful candidates commencing their traineeship with TAFE NSW by March 2026.
