Newcastle location 

Permanent part-time (21 hours per week)

$103,050 - $108,266 salary package - includes base salary ($90,791 - $95,387), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading (to be paid pro-rata)

About the role

This position plays a key role in supporting the delivery of education services in the field of chemistry. You will ensure that laboratories and teaching environments are safe, well-maintained, and equipped with the necessary apparatus and chemicals. Responsibilities include preparing and distributing science teaching resources, calibrating and maintaining analytical laboratory equipment, managing chemical inventories in compliance with safety standards, and providing related administrative and technical support to enable high-quality learning experiences.

**Please note that TAFE NSW will be closed over the Christmas and New Year period from 25 December 2025 to 9 January 2026 inclusive. Shortlisting and interviewing for this position will be conducted in the new year. **

About You 

To be successful for this position, you will need to possess:

  • A Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Chemistry or a relevant Chemical Sciences discipline or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
  • A strong industry background in chemical sciences, chemistry education or similar
  • Strong experience in preparing working solutions and safe handling of hazardous chemicals
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and techniques related to chemical analysis including chromatography, refractometry, and spectrophotometry
  • A valid Working with Children Check (required prior to commencement).
