Temporary Part-Time (17.5 hours per week) until 22 February 2027

$111,798 – $132,585 salary package - includes base salary ($98,499 – $116,813), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading paid pro rata

About the role

We’re seeking a creative and motivated individual to inspire the next generation of musicians, composers and producers! 

As a teacher you will be responsible for constructing, guiding and enhancing the educational process, delivering educational programs, collaborating with a team of trainers and facilitating learning to enable students to become highly skilled musicians.

The successful candidate will be based in Lismore but must also be willing and able to work at Byron Bay campus as and when required.

About You

You are a talented, capable and creative music professional with strong skills in performance, composition and sound production, supported by relevant industry experience and familiarity working within the creative sector. You bring demonstrated experience engaging with diverse learning groups, adapting your teaching approach to meet varied student needs.

Highly organised, you communicate clearly and work effectively to defined timeframes, ensuring successful delivery of projects and learning outcomes. You have working knowledge of Ableton Live or another professional DAWs, enabling you to deliver contemporary, industry-aligned training in Music composition, production and performance.

To be successful in the role, you will:

  • Hold appropriate subject knowledge and skills, and a minimum Diploma of the following or equivalent field:
    • Music Performance
    • Composition and Music Creation
    • Sound Production
  • Have a minimum of three years post-qualification industry experience relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
  • Hold evidence of the required teaching qualification to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET). See the candidate support document here for details.
  • Be prepared to develop and maintain your VET knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency, and trainer/assessor competence.

Highly Regarded:

  • Hold an honours degree or higher in a relevant field
