About the Role

The Stores Officer – Hospitality position supports the effective delivery of hospitality education programs across TAFE NSW learning sites. The role is responsible for overseeing and monitoring stores operations while ensuring high standards of customer service, stock control, purchasing and compliance with food safety requirements.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Purchasing and receipting goods
  • Inventory and stock control
  • Monitoring food safety and hygiene compliance
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Maintaining accurate records and systems
  • Supporting hospitality teaching operations 

Please note this position requires an early commencement time of 7:00 am Monday - Friday.

About You

You are flexible and adaptable, working independently and collaboratively in a small team. You are an enthusiastic individual with a strong work ethic and can adjust and prioritise your work schedule when required.

You will have exceptional safety and compliance standards and will ensure efficient day-to-day operations including materials/equipment ordering, receiving, dispersing, issuing and disposing, are conducted at these high standards.

Crucially, you are someone who shares the TAFE NSW Values of Integrity, Collaboration, Excellence and Customer Focus.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience in hospitality stores, inventory or purchasing environments
  • Knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety regulations
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience using inventory and purchasing systems
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Undertake manual handling tasks 

To be considered for this role you will have: 

  • Certificate IV in Hospitality, appropriate qualification in food hygiene practices or sound knowledge of and experience applying food safety related regulations and standards including Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points principles, Food and Liquor Acts.
  • Proven experience monitoring quality standards and performing stock control and purchasing activities including use of related computer systems for data entry, records and process management.
  • Demonstrated experience liaising with external suppliers of goods and internal customers to ensure quality standards of goods, service and cost value effectively meet customer needs.

Highly Desirable

  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • Driver Licence
