Base salary of $52,457 - $64,596 p.a (pro-rata, 0.77 FTE) plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

A General Assistant Toolstore plays a vital role in assisting with the delivery of educational programs. 

Your experience in a trade environment and well-developed knowledge of tools and equipment will be key in this role. Your initiative to identify and organise resources required by students and staff will deliver service excellence.  Your day-to-day activities will include but not limited to supporting our delivery teams by contributing to a positive learning experience, general administration work, purchasing and organising tools, equipment and materials and maintaining a safe workshop environment for students and staff. This position will carry out manual handling activities.  

This is a permanent, part-time part-year role, working 34.5 hours per week, during term time only (41 weeks per year) located at our Dubbo campus.

About You 

  • You are a self-starter who is willing to be hands-on to support learning outcomes and delivery in the classroom.
  • You are excited to share your industry knowledge and experience with others.
  • Have demonstrated experience working within a trade environment, using a range of hand and power tools.

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience working within a trade environment or related work areas.
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of purchasing within a trade environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in use of hand & power tools, small machinery and tool maintenance in a trade environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member or with limited supervision.

Highly Desirable:

  • Forklift license
  • Experience in Automotive Industry
  • Skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies, in particular excel, Microsoft word and outlook.
  • Demonstrated experience to follow WH&S instructions such as using correct PPE and following Safe operating procedures.
