Salary package of $93,299 which includes salary ($82,200) per annum, plus superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

The Education Support Officer is supervised by the Teacher- in-Charge or Head Teacher and works under the direction of a teacher as appropriate. The role is responsible for a range of activities which support learners and enhance the student learning experience and educative processes. You will provide support to a diverse range of learners, ensuring that student outcomes are at the forefront of your decision making.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Appropriate subject knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications (diploma or above) and a commitment to maintain technical currency in a Community Services related area e.g. Social Work, Community Services, Youth Work, Alcohol and Other Drug Work, Counselling, Mental Health, Disability and other relevant areas or equivalent
  • Ability to understand the content of the learning materials and the processes used in the discipline.
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to be proactive and show initiative and ability to explain ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Commitment and ability to support learning in an adult environment and a demonstrated ability to motivate and encourage students.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and to provide quality customer service as part of a broader team.
  • Skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies.
