$103,956 salary package - includes base salary $91,590, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading, paid pro-rata

About the role

As an Assessor with TAFE NSW, you will carry out independent assessments and grading for students, with a focus to support students in achieving the completion of tasks and identify strengths, address skill gaps, and support continuous improvement.

Joining a collaborative team of nursing and allied health professionals, you will mentor and guide students through their work placements, supporting them as they gain practical experience in industry health care settings or on TAFE NSW campuses, while assessing their practical skills through simulated activities.

Note: Travel will be required for this role between Wyong and Gosford campuses and across the central coast area as required.

About You

You are a dedicated professional who is organised, proactive and approachable. You communicate clearly, embrace digital tools, and genuinely enjoy supporting adult learners. You value inclusive relationships and take pride in motivating learners and helping them succeed.

To be successful in the role, you will:

  1. Hold appropriate subject knowledge and skills, and at minimum hold a bachelor degree in nursing AND have acute care nursing experience.
  2. Have current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  3. Have a minimum of three years post-qualification industry experience relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
  4. Hold evidence of the appropriate qualifications to assess Vocational Education and Training. See the candidate support document (here) for details.
  5. Be prepared to develop and maintain your VET knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency, and trainer/assessor competence.
