$103,956 salary package - includes base salary ($91,590), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

TAFE Assessors carry out independent assessments and grading for students, with a focus on supporting students to complete tasks, as well as identifying areas for further training. Assessors work within a team of industry professionals in an engaging environment.

We currently have two temporary full-time opportunities until 30 June 2028, based at Strathfield Campus to join our Business Services team.

Note: This role does not teach or deliver training.

About You

To be successful in the role, you will:

  • Have appropriate subject knowledge, skills and hold at minimum a Diploma (or Higher) in either:
    • Marketing and Communications, or
    • Human Resources, or
    • Leadership & Management, or
    • Workplace, Health and Safety, or
    • Training and Assessment, or
    • Entrepreneurship and New Business 
  • Have a minimum of three years post-qualification current experience in industry relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
  • Evidence of holding the appropriate qualifications to assess Vocational Education and Training. See the candidate support document (here) for details.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess students against competency-based skills tasks.
  • Understanding of the content of learning materials and the processes used in the discipline, and a commitment to maintain professional currency.
  • Commitment and ability to provide feedback in an adult learning environment and motivate and encourage students.
  • Skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies.
  • Appropriate level of digital literacy skills commensurate with an online learning environment.
