About the role
The TAFE NSW Aboriginal Cadetship Program offers Aboriginal students with 12 weeks of flexible, paid employment (Work Placement) per year at TAFE NSW that is aligned to their field of study for a duration of up to three years. This role offers the opportunity to apply your learning in real-world contexts while contributing to TAFE NSW’s commitment to delivering quality services for students, customers and communities.
As an Aboriginal Cadet within the Corporate Services Group, you’ll gain practical experience supporting finance and accounting functions that underpin TAFE NSW’s business operations. In the Finance Help Desk, you’ll assist stakeholders with purchasing activities, finance enquiries, invoicing and procurement processes while ensuring adherence to policy and compliance requirements. Within Accounting Operations, you may work across General Ledger, Payroll Accounting or Banking, supporting tasks such as journal processing, account reconciliation, record keeping, and producing financial information used for statutory and business performance reporting. This cadetship offers a strong foundation in financial operations and is well‑suited to someone developing skills in business, commerce or accounting.
About You
You are an Aboriginal undergraduate student passionate about supporting TAFE NSW and Aboriginal communities. You are motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn, with strong communication skills and a commitment to applying your knowledge in a professional work environment. You are adaptable, culturally aware, and willing to take initiative while working under guidance and supervision.
