Teacher of Human Services – Aged Care (Aboriginal Targeted)

Location: Armidale, Glen Innes, Inverell or Tamworth Campus

Temporary Fulltime until October 2027

Total Remuneration Package: $111,798 - $132,585. Package includes base salary of $98,499 - $116,813 employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading paid pro rata.

About the role

We’re seeking world-class educators to inspire the next generation of Human Services – Aged Care students by joining our team of teachers on a Temporary Fulltime basis, commencing in January 2027 through to October 2027, with possible extension. Located at Armidale, Glen Innes, Inverell or Tamworth Campus, with travel to other TAFE NSW Campuses in the New England North West area required.

In this role, you will deliver educational programs and facilitate learning using a blend of face‑to‑face and online delivery methods, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes. You will confidently use online platforms and digital tools, including the Microsoft Office Suite, to support engaging and effective learning experiences. Proudly teach students to support older people and people with disability to live with dignity, independence and choice. Draw on your professional experience and values‑based practice to teach person‑centred care, communication, advocacy and inclusive support strategies. Guide students through practical, real‑world learning scenarios that build essential skills, professional confidence and a strong foundation for meaningful careers in the ageing and disability sector.

About You

You have the ambition and drive to succeed and mentor your students, passing on your experience and knowledge. You will also have the ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with stakeholders including industry and students.

We are looking for a passionate and engaged individual who meets the following Essential Requirements:  

  • Hold a Certificate IV or above in Aged Care relevant industries such as Aged Care or Gerontology or a Diploma of Nursing or Registered Nurse.
  • Have a minimum of three years post-qualification industry experience relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
  • Hold evidence of the required teaching qualification to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET). See the candidate support document here for details.
  • Be prepared to develop and maintain your VET knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency, and trainer/assessor competence.
