About the role
Make a meaningful impact in your community by helping train the next wave of skilled Fitting & Machining professionals.  At TAFE NSW, we’re seeking an industry experienced educator who is passionate about guiding learners and strengthening regional workforce capability.

As a Teacher of Fitting & Machining, you’ll deliver practical, engaging training that mirrors real‑world mechanical trade environments. Drawing on your own career experience, you’ll teach students how to safely and confidently perform tasks such as machining, maintenance, diagnostics, and CNC operations.

About You
To be successful in the role you will:

1. Hold appropriate subject knowledge and skills, and at minimum hold a Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering. 
2. Have a minimum of five years post-qualification industry experience relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
3. Hold evidence of the required teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET). See the candidate support document (here) for details.
4. Be prepared to develop and maintain your VET knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency, and trainer/assessor competence.
