$103,050 - $108,266 salary package - includes base salary ($90,791 – $95,387), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

As the Operations Manager, you will oversee hospitality operations across six TAFE NSW locations including Wentworth Falls, Campbelltown, Mount Druitt, Kingswood, Baulkham Hills and Wetherill Park. Working across a diverse and dynamic environment, you will lead operational staff, coordinate rosters and resource allocation, manage purchasing and asset planning, and ensure kitchens and hospitality facilities operate safely, efficiently and in line with compliance requirements. You will also build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support the training and development of staff to deliver exceptional service outcomes for students, customers and the broader community. This role will collaborate on a state-wide level with the Procurement and Operations team across the Cuisine & Hospitality Faculty, providing high-quality operational support to learning and teaching activities and contributing to the efficient delivery of faculty-wide objectives.

The successful candidate must have the willingness and ability to travel as and when required between the six TAFE NSW campuses (Wentworth Falls, Campbelltown, Mount Druitt, Kingswood, Baulkham Hills and Wetherill Park) overseen by this position.

About you 

You are a proactive and adaptable operations professional with strong communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of people. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, can confidently balance competing priorities, and are comfortable using technology and systems to support operational performance. Your background may include hospitality, education or a similar service-focused industry, with experience in purchasing, inventory management and leading teams. You’ll bring a customer-focused mindset, a commitment to safety and compliance, and a passion for supporting high-performing teams.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in a relevant discipline OR equivalent skills knowledge and experience.
  • Hospitality experience, with knowledge of recipes and food ordering in a commercial environment.

Highly Regarded

  • Hold a Chef, Baker, Patisserie and/or Hospitality qualification
  • Background in purchasing and inventory management, preferably in a hospitability or education facility
  • Experience in Inventory Management Systems
  • Hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Competency Card
  • Hold a NSW Food Safety Supervisors Certificate
  • Hold a current Drivers Licence
