Manager Education Support

Location: Newcastle, Wetherill Park or Wollongong Campus

Temporary Full-time until June 2028

Total Remuneration Package $178,647.30 includes salary of $158,152.00 pa plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

TAFE NSW Manufacturing Centres of Excellence

To tackle skill shortages in priority areas, TAFE NSW is launching the TAFE NSW Manufacturing Centres of Excellence (MCoE), which is a joint initiative between the Australian Government and NSW Government under the National Skills Agreement. The TAFE NSW MCoE is an agile approach to skills acquisition, connecting industry and education partners to foster innovative training pathways and enhance core manufacturing skills.

About the role

As the Manager of Education Support, you will lead a team dedicated to providing expert advice and support to the Manufacturing Centres of Excellence (MCoE) delivery teams. Your goal will be to ensure excellence in teaching by implementing quality and innovative practices. The successful candidate will be based at one of the MCoE campuses at either Newcastle, Wetherill Park or Wollongong, and must be willing to travel regionally as required to the other two MCoE campuses.

About You 

You will have the capability to lead and manage a geographically dispersed team of educational quality experts, offering high-level advice and expertise. Your role will involve developing new processes and systems and driving their adoption to deliver excellent training for our students and partners.

You will possess a deep understanding of ASQA and TEQSA standards, coupled with proven experience in delivering customer-focused quality services in a fast-paced, complex environment. Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills are essential for this role, enabling you to effectively engage with diverse client groups to achieve meaningful results.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Degree in a relevant discipline OR equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
  • Experience in leading the delivery of focused and customer-centric quality services of VET training to enhance student retention and customer experience in a dynamic and complex organisation.

Highly Desirable:

  • Experience in high level collaboration with university and industry partners.
  • Experience in process management from design to implementation and evaluation stage.
