Base Salary $70,168 - $91,675 p.a. plus employers’ contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

As a Librarian at TAFE NSW, you’ll play a crucial role in empowering our diverse student body by providing top-notch information literacy instruction and support, both in-person and online.

You’ll be at the forefront of developing and promoting innovative, customer-focused library services that are key to our students’ educational success.  

This full-time, permanent position requires the successful candidate to work across both the Leeton and Griffith campuses, with a 0.5 FTE allocation at each campus. The working roster will be negotiated during the offer stage to accommodate operational needs and candidate preferences.

Interviews for this position are scheduled to take place in January 2025.

About You 

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated professional who is passionate about library and information services.

If you meet the following criteria, we want to hear from you:

  • Qualifications: Eligible for Associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) with an ALIA-accredited library and information science qualification.
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of library and information service concepts, principles, and theory.
  • Tech-Savvy: Understanding of library systems, practices, procedures, and current developments, with the ability to support evolving library technologies. Digital Literacy and AI expertise transferable to program development.
  • Adaptable: Willingness to travel as needed to meet business requirements.

Targeted Question: Frontline customer service is a critical component of the Librarian grade 1 role in TAFE NSW Libraries. Positive communication and engagement with customers is essential. Please provide an example of when you were able to build rapport with a customer in a stressful or challenging situation.
