Salary package of $172,772 includes a base salary of $153,590 + employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role
The Industrial Relations Specialist is responsible for the provision of high-level industrial relations advice, services, negotiation, and advocacy for TAFE NSW with unions and other employee representatives such as lawyers. The Industrial Relations Specialist will also be involved in enterprise bargaining and dealing with employment and industrial dispute and litigation before the Fair Work Commission and other external bodies.
Reporting to the Manager Industrial Relations, you will provide expert advice to ensure risk management and compliance with relevant workplace relations legislation, policies and procedures, and to support TAFE NSW’s strategic objectives of driving a high performing organisation and workplace culture.
This is a temporary full-time position until 30th June 2025. Travel to TAFE NSW Ultimo campus will be required from time to time.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have significant industrial relations experience, preferably in a large complex organisation. Your strengths will be in quickly understanding the business, its values and working collaboratively through partnering with key stakeholders in the People and Culture team and the wider TAFE NSW organisation. You will have high-level problem-solving skills and be confident in the consideration of how to work through issues, weigh up alternatives and identify the most effective solutions.
You are an effective and influential communicator with the ability to lead meaningful discussions around sensitive confidential matters and will be able to establish constructive and professional work relationships with representatives from unions, law firms and other key stakeholders.
