About the role

A General Assistant Toolstore Person is responsible for providing high level customer service to enhance the effective and efficient delivery of frontline class support. Your day-to-day activities will include, but not limited to, supporting students by contributing to a positive learning experience, general administration work, purchasing and organising tools, equipment and materials for students and staff. 

This position will carry out manual handling activities.

About You 

  • You are a self‑starter who enjoys being hands‑on and supporting positive learning outcomes in the classroom.
  • You are enthusiastic about sharing your industry knowledge and experience with students and colleagues.
  • You have strong organisational skills and can manage competing tasks effectively.
  • You are confident using information and communication technologies, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • You follow WH&S processes consistently, including correct PPE use and adherence to safe operating procedures.
  • You are able to work flexible shifts between 7am and 9:30pm in line with business needs.
  • You are comfortable carrying out manual handling tasks as part of your day‑to‑day work.

Essential Criteria

  • A valid Working with Children Check (required prior to commencement).
  • Demonstrated experience working within a trade environment (bricklaying experience highly regarded).
  • Demonstrated experience using hand and power tools, small machinery, and performing minor repairs and tool maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience in purchasing tools, equipment and materials within a trade environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and also independently with limited supervision.

Highly Desirable:

  • Forklift Licence
