Permanent full-time (35 hours per week)

Total remuneration package: $92,882, including base salary of $82,200, employer contribution to superannuation, and annual leave loading

About the role

TAFE NSW are seeking an Education Support Officer to work within our Maritime teaching team. The role is responsible supporting our Maritime students in their studies and with using our cutting-edge Maritime Simulation equipment as advised by a teacher. 

In the role, you will work closely to supplement and support the teaching activities by providing follow-up instruction as provided by a teacher and opportunities to practice skills to enhance the educative experience and engagement. Share your skills and passion for your industry, build the skills, qualifications, and employability, and support the career goals of our students. 

About You

You will bring with you a passion to make a sustained and meaningful impact on industry and learners when sharing your subject knowledge expertise from industry and an appropriate vocational qualification.  

To be successful in this role you must possess:

  • AMSA Master less than 45 metres certificate of competency OR AMSA Marine Engine Driver grade 1 certificate of competency OR Marine Mechanical or Electrotechnology trade qualification or equivalent
  • Relevant post-qualification experience in the industry relevant to your qualification
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including your ability to be proactive and show initiative

Highly Desirable

  • Technically proficient with practical mechanical expertise
