We invest in our people
At TAFE NSW, you will discover a diverse, dynamic, and collaborative environment, where you can innovate, create value, and do meaningful work.
We provide you with tools and ongoing training and professional development, health and wellbeing programs with a variety of flexible working options.
About the Role
As Director Strategy and Architecture, you will lead strategic planning and enterprise architecture for digital services across TAFE NSW. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), you will shape the digital strategy and technology roadmap, ensuring investment is aligned to organisational priorities and delivers long-term impact. This role is at the heart of data services, policy, funding, and architecture, overseeing enterprise frameworks, advising senior leaders, and coordinating inter-agency digital initiatives in a large, complex government environment. The role also drives strategic partnerships and outcomes through effective commercial management of TAFE NSW digital suppliers.
You will establish and govern enterprise-wide architecture standards across business, application, data, and technology domains, while championing data governance, privacy compliance, risk management, and evidence-based decision-making.
You will prepare business cases and policy proposals to secure funding for major initiatives and act as a trusted adviser to the CIO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board on digital strategy, investment, risk, and emerging opportunities.
By anticipating sector trends and leading the design of secure, scalable, and resilient technologies, you will position TAFE NSW to remain future-ready and digitally agile. At the same time, you will foster collaboration with government agencies, stakeholders, and providers to maximise interoperability and ensure digital initiatives align with broader sector strategies.
About You
You are a strategist with deep expertise in enterprise and solutions architecture, digital transformation, and technology governance. Equally comfortable navigating and balancing tactical challenges and long-term planning, you thrive in complex environments where strategy is balanced with execution. Furthermore, you will be experienced with information data management, risk and governance frameworks, and commercial management.
You bring strong financial acumen, proven success in developing multi-year technology roadmaps, and the ability to secure investment through evidence-based proposals. As a trusted adviser, you are confident influencing key stakeholders, building strong partnerships, and guiding decisions that shape digital futures.
Your leadership style is inclusive and values-driven, fostering high-performing, customer-oriented teams that embrace innovation and collaboration. Experience working across government, education, or other large, complex organisations will be highly regarded. This is your opportunity to set the strategic blueprint for digital innovation at one of Australia’s largest education providers and deliver outcomes that matter to communities across NSW.
