$38.46 per hour (base rate of $30.77 per hour plus Casual Loading).

About the role

TAFE NSW is seeking motivated and organised individuals for Casual Class Preparation Assistant positions based at our Hamilton and Ourimbah campuses.

The Class Preparation Assistant role is a hands-on position supporting training in Commercial Cookery and Hospitality. You will ensure classrooms, equipment, and resources are prepared, maintained, and ready for delivery, working closely with teaching staff to create a smooth and effective learning environment.

You will be responsible for maintaining high hygiene standards and HACCP compliance, including safe food handling, storage, and disposal. The role involves preparing class materials, assisting with food preparation, washing up dishes and maintaining clean workspaces, managing stock and inventory, and ensuring all equipment and facilities meet safety and compliance requirements in a fast-paced, practical environment.

About you 

You are a reliable and proactive team player who enjoys hands-on work and thrives in a fast-paced environment. With a positive and approachable attitude, you’re comfortable taking direction while working both independently and collaboratively.

You bring strong attention to detail with cleanliness and organisation, hold the physical capability to meet the demands of an active role, and sound knowledge of food handling and safety practices. A certificate II in Hospitality, or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience is essential for this role, and a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification is highly regarded.
