About the role

Join us as a casual Cabinetmaking Teacher and play a key role in cultivating the knowledge, skills, and passion of tomorrow’s industry professionals.

This role is more than delivering training - this is an opportunity to inspire the next generation of Cabinetmaking professionals by delivering nationally recognised qualifications that lead to rewarding careers. Through your industry expertise, you’ll guide learners as they develop the practical skills, craftsmanship, and confidence needed to design, build, and install high-quality furniture, cabinetry, and interior fittings.

About You

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Hold appropriate subject knowledge and skills and hold a minimum of Certificate III in Cabinetmaking or equivalent. (Equivalent qualifications may include Certification III in Shopfitting or Woodmaching/Timber and Composites).
  • Certificate of Proficiency.
  • Have a minimum of three (3) years post-qualification experience gained no longer than five (5) years previously in cabinetmaking which may include:
    • kitchen and bathroom manufacturing
    • furniture making
    • wood machining
    • joinery
    • shopfitting
    • timber products
    • manufacturing
    • installation,
    • production environments
    • workforce development
  • Hold evidence of the required teaching qualification to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET). See the candidate support document here for details.
  • Be prepared to develop and maintain your VET knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency, and trainer/assessor competence

Desirable: CNC and CAD experience
