About the role

TAFE NSW is seeking world-class educators to inspire the next generation of Information Technology students!  

We’re looking for industry qualified and experienced subject matter experts of Information Technology to join the teaching team as Casual Teacher within Sydney region (pending campus availability at TAFE NSW campuses). The role of the TAFE teacher as a professional educator is to help, construct, guide and enhance the education process. The teacher delivers educational programs and facilitates learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes.

About You 

To excel in this role, you must stay attuned to the ever-evolving industry landscape. Your enthusiasm for continuous learning is crucial, as you’ll need to stay abreast of current trends, technologies, and best practices. Your passion for teaching will shine through as you mentor and guide a diverse group of students. Drawing from your wealth of industry experience, you’ll inspire and empower those under your tutelage.

To be successful in the role you will:

  • A Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, or equivalent/relevant qualification specialising in one of more of the following;
    • Programming, Web, Networking, Virtualisation and Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Helpdesk, Project Management or Business Analysis.
  • Have a minimum of three years post-qualification experience in industry relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
  • Hold TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent.
  • Be prepared to continue to develop their Vocational Education and Training (VET) knowledge and skills as well as their industry currency and trainer/assessor competence.

 Highly Regarded:

  • Demonstrated experience in Information Technology sector with knowledge of current industry practices especially in Sub-security Web Services, Networking, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing and Programming
  • Experience in the following areas:-
    • Full-stack web technologies.
    • Frameworks such as React and Angular.
    • Cyber security, Forensics, Penetration Testing, Incident response, Cloud Computing
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, MCP, AWS, Azure, Security+, CEH, OSCP.
