$79,286 package includes salary ($70,168 – $91,675) pro-rata, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

The Librarian, Grade 1, provides reference services ensuring the delivery of relevant high-quality information to meet the needs of customers from a range of sectors in the TAFE NSW West Region.

This is a fantastic opportunity for self-driven and dedicated professionals who are passionate about Library Services, who have well-developed information technology skills and demonstrated commitment to the implementation of the use of online resources and communication technologies in an educational environment.

At TAFE NSW, you’ll have the chance to collaborate and take responsibility for ensuring that all customers are well-versed in information literacy. You’ll provide them with timely, high-quality information and support their learning through best-practice instruction in information access and assessment.

Additionally, your role involves contributing to the development, delivery, and evaluation of library and information services that enhance customer learning and study. You’ll also play a part in preparing, deploying, and evaluating top-notch library collections and guides to meet the information needs of all customers.

The Gunnedah team shares travel to Narrabri once a week and Coonabarabran as per business requirements. 

Qualified Librarians who are eligible for membership of ALIA, (Australian Library and Information Association) are invited to apply.

About You 

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who have a broad knowledge of library and information services, systems, procedures and current developments.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing a quality customer experience. You have an adept knowledge, and a sound understanding of technology relevant to Libraries and can maintain your own motivation, and dedication to positive outcomes, when posed with challenging concepts.

You are an initiative-taking professional who is confident when working alone, or within a small team, and can connect and collaborate with relevant stakeholders within the community.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Degree or post-graduate qualification in library and information studies and be eligible for admission to associate membership of the Australian Library & Information Association.
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge of library and information service concepts principles and theory, and a sound understanding of library systems, practices, procedures and current developments.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the technologies relevant to libraries and ability to support changing library technologies.
