Temporary Full Time until April 2026

Salary Package $178,647 includes a base salary of $158,152 plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a team of UX specialists working across the student and staff journey and foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and excellence. The Lead UX Researcher is responsible for guiding TAFE NSW’s research strategy as well as facilitating and supporting user research using various qualitative and quantitative methods to enhance the TAFE digital experience. A key aspect of this role involves education of design thinking principles and influencing stakeholders to adopt a user-first mindset.

About You 

With a pragmatic approach, you have demonstrated ability to not only identify opportunities and challenges, but translate your findings to clear and actionable recommendations. Your excellent communication skills enable you to successfully leverage insights and design decisions to stakeholders at all levels. The ability to prioritize your workload and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment is essential.

You will have:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying various qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with UX designers to design complex user-centred digital products.
  • Demonstrated experience using UX software such as Figma, Miro and test software.

Highly Regarded:

  • Previous leadership experience in a cross-functional team environment
  • High level stakeholder engagement skills
