Senior Counsellor

Location Negotiable Across West, Central West and Hunter Region (Pending Campus Availability)

Full-time, Permanent

Base Salary $135,445 - $138,798 p.a. plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

Are you driven to make a difference in students’ lives? As a Senior Counsellor, you’ll lead the delivery of impactful counselling services and programs that empower our diverse student community to achieve their goals.

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Lead and mentor a team of counselling professionals, ensuring best practices and high-quality service delivery.
  • Provide expert counselling to prospective and enrolled students, supporting their personal, academic, and vocational success.
  • Identifying, reporting and recommending to management on broad trends, issues and concerns relevant to students, educational programs and/or the campus.

This is a permanent, full-time role with a flexible location at one of TAFE NSW’s West, Central West and Hunter campuses, depending on desk availability. Campuses include Moree, Tamworth, Armidale, Muswellbrook, Cessnock/Kurri Kurri, and Maitland.

About You 

You are a compassionate and experienced professional with:

  • An appropriate degree from a tertiary institution and at least three years study in psychology plus minimum two years appropriate vocational experience.
  • Current psychology registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Substantial experience in the provision of vocational, educational and personal counselling services.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as per business requirements.
